LoudLaunch Publisher/Advertiser Code of Ethics
I will do all that you can to maintain your blog as a trusted voice in keeping with the standards of writing, journalism, language and media ethics.
I will not post a link to material that I have not read thoroughly and carefully.
I will make sure I understand important concepts presented in the source material and explain the foundation of my understanding to my readers.
I will be fair in my representation.
I will not exaggerate or use language that does so
I will not be repetitive, but rather try to put as much content as possible
I will remember that my purpose is to describe and provide exposure for a product/service and simply offer knowledge
I will keep entries up-to-date with the source material and company site
I will ensure that I have researched the company’s site, campaign and products
I will correct my errors and omissions promptly and publicly on the post where the error was made
If a re-write is requested, I will write a new, explanatory post
I will not publish on duplicate blogs or state that one exists when it does not
I will write with grammatically correct language styling
I will reply to correspondence as necessary promptly and politely
I will strive for the best writing and analysis that I am capable of producing
When writing a review, I will always attempt to follow the best practice guidelines of international journalism practices and as outlined in texts
such as The Elements of Journalism.
I will always be truthful, respectful and honest.
If I accept a campaign I will comply with the Advertiser requests regarding blog ratings, statistics, and ensure that all requested keywords and links are correct.
If I accept to write a review for a campaign, I will accept payment and disclose such arrangement according to FTC regulations.
The nature and scope of a review will be entirely up to me.
I will only accept campaigns that are in my discipline, knowledge base, area of writing and I will approach each review from a professional and
knowledgeable perspective.
I will disclose any relationships, responsibilities, conflicts of interests, and biases on my blog/published work.
I will serve both my audience of readers and the advertiser paying for the campaign by striving to present a fair and accurate representation of
the product/service description.
I will keep up to date with ethical trends in the journalism, advertising and media, such as the Forrester Posts Blogger Code of Ethics
I will abide by the Code summarized by Forrester analyst Charlene Li who recommends that bloggers adopt the following code of ethics :
I will tell the truth.
I will write deliberately and with accuracy.
I will acknowledge and correct mistakes promptly.
I will preserve the original post, using notations to show where I have made changes so as to maintain the integrity of my publishing.
I will never delete a post.
I will not delete comments unless they are spam or off-topic.
I will reply to emails and comments when appropriate, and do so promptly.
I will strive for high quality with every post – including basic spellchecking.
I will stay on topic.
I will disagree with other opinions respectfully.
I will link to online references and original source materials directly.
I will disclose conflicts of interest.
I will keep private issues and topics private, since discussing private issues would jeopardize my personal and work relationships.
